10 Reasons to Run!

  • The Date

October 7th 2018 – This will be one of the first Autumn Half Marathons in the Calendar and a great opportunity to run before the weather turns cold and nights draw in!

  • The Location

It starts and finishes in The royal Borough of Kingston Ancient Marketplace. It’s a great setting with a number of Old coaching Inns still in place. Kingston has a fantastic history and is now one of the major growth areas in London with great retail and a fast developing residential centre alongside the river.

  • The Route

Starting in the famous Ancient Market Place, runners will then cover 5 miles through the historic Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames before heading alongside the Thames towards the magnificent Hampton Court Palace. Runners then travel through through Thames Ditton before heading back towards Kingston for the classic marketplace Finish.

  • The Distance

The Half Marathon is the most popular race distance amongst runners. Long enough to get really involved and feel an immense sense of achievement it is much more accessible than the full marathon distance.

  • PB potential!

This fast, flat course on good running surfaces gives excellent opportunities for a quick time and potential PB!

  • The Technical Stuff

Gun and chip timing so you will get your personal time exact even if it takes a few minutes to cross the line at the start.. All results up same day.

  • The Medal & Tshirt

Special bespoke design medal - It’s big, its heavy, you will want to wear it! Plus top Technical Tee to all finishers.

  • Post race Sustainance

Fruit, water and a selection of goodies at the Finish. Kingston market traders and local cafes also give you a wide range of options for a post race snack or meal!

  • Baggage

Baggage no problem with secure baggage drop and retrieval in place.

  • Transport

We have an arrangement with local parking for a £5 all day pass for runners (see details on the Race Day info page). Alternatively the start is only 5 minutes from Kingston Train Station which provides regular services from and to London. Many buses terminate or pass through Kingston central. Bike racks in the town are readily available.
