Change Diet Coca-Cola can design

The design highlights part of the Diet Coke logo, to show the “D” and “k”. International.- As of September 1, Diet Coca-Cola will have the limited edition design that was introduced last fall. The design, created by Turner Duckworth, highlights part of the Diet Coke logo, cropped to show the “D” and “k” prominently. The can’s color scheme – red and black on a silver background – remains the same. The packaging design will only be applied to branded cans, not bottles.

The bold design is in line with the brand’s efforts to align with the fashion community. This fall, a tee designed by Gustavo Alonso, a student at the University of Miami College of Art and Design, will be sold at Target locations nationwide as part of Diet Coke’s Young Designer Challenge. The garment shows a cut out logo.

The fall season has become an important marketing period for the brand, which usually focuses its efforts on the first quarter. In 2010, Diet Coke slowly overtook Pepsi to become the second largest soft drink brand in the United States. And since then, it’s been trying to consolidate that advantage, partly by ramping up its marketing in the second half of the year.
