To all interested Kids of Steel Triathletes: the newly formed Kingston
Youth Triathlon Club will be having it's very first
meeting/information night on Wednesday, March 20. The meeting will take
place at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel school in Amherstview from 6:30 to 8:30
pm. The club is open to all athletes (male & female) between the ages of
7 and 18. This is a non-profit club, the directors, coaches and
assistants are all volunteers. The main office will be located at the
home of the club president Robert Lanciault at 10 Oxford Cres. in
Amherstview. The goal of the KYTC is to provide triathlon
coaching/training to kids that will allow them to prepare for and
compete in one of the local KOS Triathlons (Loyalist on July 13 and RMC
on Aug. 5). The focus will be on participation and fun while pursuing a
health and fitness lifestyle in the company of other young triathletes.
At present the club's executive consists of president Robert Lanciault,
vice-pres Clive Morgan and treasurer Howard Edwards. If there any
parents/athletes that would be interested in assisting with the
creation/development/direction of the club, please contact the
president. We aim to provide regular training sessions in swimming,
biking and running with the assistance of qualified coaches. A training
plan, schedule and fee structure will be presented at the inaugural
meeting. For more information and a map to the school please go to the
KYTC web site http://www.kytc.ca Hope to see you there.
