It is a long-term commitment to achieving success in business with ethical values.

Kraft Foods Mexico, one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies, has received the award for socially responsible company from the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) for the fourth year in a row, the Multipress internet portal announced. The company has placed special emphasis on its social responsibility efforts, which is why it established the World Council for Social Responsibility in 2003, which leads the company’s efforts and actions worldwide.

For a company, socially responsible business must be reflected in all activities and at all levels of business. Your motive is to build self-confidence every day. It is a long-term commitment to achieving business success with ethical values that respect people, communities and the environment.

In this sense and in line with its values, its priorities are based on fostering the trust of various consumers and strengthening relationships with the community and strategic partners that help drive the company’s success around the world. For this reason, in their various community social responsibility programs in Mexico, they have implemented activities aimed at supporting the social development of the most vulnerable communities, with particular reference to the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the fight against hunger.

The Feed Us to Live Better program created in collaboration with Save de Children México aims to improve nutrition levels and quality, as well as promote physical activity among community educators, children and families. In 2007, “Food for a better life” received the award “Best practice of social responsibility” awarded by CEMEFI.

From 2006 to today, “Feeding for a Better Life” has helped more than 18,000 girls and boys across the country; and 1,500 parents with the support of 560 social educators in the federal district and 60 promoters in the internal affairs of the Republic.

Through an alliance with the Mexican Association of Food Banks (AMBA) and Fondo Unidos, Kraft Foods México donated more than 504 tons of food in 2008 to the most vulnerable sectors of the country and in support of natural disasters.

On the other hand, in 2008 we relaunched the “Fuerza Kraft” volunteer program, which offers all its associates a number of opportunities to get involved in support activities in the community, such as the case of Un Kilo of Help with Nutritional Adoption of low-income children from the Cabecera de Indígenas community, 2nd barracks in the municipality of Donato Guerra.

One of the most important actions of Kraft Foods México aimed at strengthening relations with its strategic partners was achieved through the “United to Win” program, which has been implemented together with Fundación E and the Ministry of Economy since 2007 with the aim of generating a competitive development process in retail trading companies “mixed goods” in Mexico that promotes their sustainability and growth.

More than 400 grocery stores in Mexico City have benefited from the program. In 2008, “United to Victory” received the award “Best Practice of Social Responsibility” in the Value Chain category awarded by CEMEFI.

Likewise, Kraft Foods Mexico takes care of the environment, and the proof of this is that all its facilities have a certificate of clean industry and a certificate of ecological excellence. Since 1995, we have celebrated World Environment Day every year with the participation of employees and the community, in order to promote the preservation of our environment among our people.
