Profeco launched a national campaign offering nutritionally valuable menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner The Federal Agency for Consumer Protection (Profeco) launched the campaign “You choose eat well“, which aims to present the seasonal food offer.
According to a press release, the campaign is part of Profeco’s actions to promote education, information dissemination and training of Mexican consumers to strengthen their purchasing and decision-making power.
For this purpose, since yesterday, Profeco has activated a campaign microsite on the consumer portal (www.consumidor.gob.mx) where information is disseminated in an easy, simple and dynamic way so that consumers can compare food prices, identify seasonal ones and find out more alternatives for their diet Daily.
In the space, consumers will be able to prepare a basket of seasonal foods from products published under the “Mexico Produce” program of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Nutrition (Sagarpa), while knowing their costs, thanks to the “Who’s Who in Prices” tool that Profeco prepares with prices of cities in the country that are updated weekly.
It should be noted that in the case of breakfast, eggs are not used in any of the menus, but cereals and legumes are used, which provide a nutritional contribution equal to the consumption of two bars.
