Soriana offers its clients oxy-biodegradable bags

Soriana has started a program to replace plastic bags with oxy-biodegradable ones in its 464 stores across the country.

The second largest self-service chain in the country uses about 60 million bags of this material every month, which will gradually be replaced by those modified with oxy-biodegradable material.

“The new bag has been modified in its composition, so that with the presence of such common natural elements as microorganisms, oxygen, moisture and soil, they are completely integrated into nature in a cycle of 12 to 24 months, a process verified in most high international standards”, the company reported.
