The exhibition will bring together more than 80 producers of cheeses, kajeta, sweets and products made from goat’s milk and meat, who will offer the best of their products for four days in the premises of the Celaya Exhibition Forum, where there will also be cheeses. tastings and pairings with wine or beer.
One event to highlight is the goat cheese tasting commented by international judge Carlos Yescas, who from New York has promoted Mexican artisanal cheeses at world competitions, in addition to creating the Mexican Cheese Institute.
Another important activity at this Expo will be the “Sensory Analysis of Cheese” course, which will be taught by Dr. Sergio Álvarez Ríos, a cheese master from the Canary Islands, Spain.
At the same time, the VIII. an international symposium on goat breeding where scientists from Spain, the United States of America, France and Mexico will hold courses and conferences for producers on the latest developments in goat production and value-added processes.
Within this framework, the Grand National Championship of parent goat breeders will be held, which will be qualified by international judges accredited by the American Dairy Goat Association, who recognize the genetic quality of the Mexican sheep breed.
Farmers will exhibit and put up for sale more than 350 specimens of goat breeds: Alpine, Boer, Lamanche, Nubian, Toggenburg and Saan. Many of these animals will compete in the Grand National Championship of Breeders of Goat Breeders.
On the IX. at the national fair of goat, cheese and kajeta, a program of artistic and cultural events is held along with music and dance. In addition, guided tours for elementary school children will be organized. It should be noted that the entrance will be free.
