Companies that are already “playing” with renewable energies

Mondelēz International is an example of a company that invests in renewable energy sources through the production of photovoltaic power plants in Poland. This investment is a significant contribution to the company’s long-term goal of achieving zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

On the other hand, a Swiss company GoldenPeaks Capital invests in renewable energy sources in Europe, especially solar energy in Poland. Projects focused on sustainability

Projects such as the biodigester announced by Pepsi at its snack factory in Carregado (Portugal) aim to reduce gas consumption at the plant and will help meet the company’s goals. This includes switching to renewable energy sources, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by more than 40% by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2040.

Danone launched a new biomass boiler in New Zealand, according to the company, is the first in the country to use biomass fuel to dry dairy products by spray drying. The boiler will only run on local sustainable forest waste located less than 50 km from the plant.

“We work in partnership with local farmers to collect their rice husks (an agricultural waste by-product) to produce energy to power our factory, and the ash is returned to local farmers to use as organic fertiliser,” the Danone manager concluded.
